Lynch Mechanical is a division of The Lynch Company, Inc.  James R. Lynch founded the Lynch Company in Portland, Oregon in 1919.  The Lynch Company was a heating contractor until World War II, when the company began providing steel fabrications for the United States shipbuilding industry at Portland's Swan Island, and the Vancouver, Washington shipyards.

In 1946, The Lynch Company began manufacturing oil and gas furnaces, as well as fabricating and installing ductwork for heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems in large institutional, commercial, and industrial buildings.  Since 1960, The Lynch Company has become a steel fabrication contractor with large-capacity shop equipment to serve both light and heavy fabrication.
